What is Big Brother?
Big Brother is a popular reality show that airs during the summer. It usually casts around 14 contestants (known as houseguests) all strangers who live in a house with no outside contact, no phones, computer, writing utensils or TV and compete to win the final cash prize. All the houseguests are trying to avoid being eliminated (Evicted) by the other houseguests. Big Brother has aired on CBS since the year 2000. Julie Chen has hosted.

House Calls: The Big Brother Talk Show is a live Internet talk show hosted by Gretchen Massey and Big Brother 3 contestant Marcellas Reynolds. The program focuses on events in the Big Brother house as well as taking phone calls from viewers.

Since the show began there have been twists in the show to try and make it more interesting for the viewers.

Season 1: The whole premise of the show (America watching in on a group of people).

Season 2: HOH nominates 2 houseguests. Houseguests vote for eviction.

Season 3: The Power of Veto. A houseguest wins this and can save themself or another who is up for eviction.

Season 4: The X-Factor - Big Brother houseguests are joined by their ex-boyfriends or ex-girlfriends.

Season 5: Project DNA: Do Not Assume - Set of twins in the house and noone knows the twins are switching out and playing the game as one.

Season 6: The Summer of Secrets - Each houseguest has a secret partner. If a set of partners makes it to the Final 2, the winner gets $1,000,000 and the runner up gets $250,000.

Season 7: All Stars - 14 former houseguests get to play the game again.

The show airs 3 times a week on CBS letting you see what goes on inside the Big Brother house as the Big Brother houseguests are followed with 100's of cameras and microphones. You can also subscribe to the Big Brother live internet feeds through realplayer at Real.com and watch the houseguests 24 hours a day. The Big Brother Live internet feeds are in my opinion what makes this show so popular. It has a very large fan base who basically put their lives on hold as much as possible during the summer months to watch the lives of the houseguests as they compete for the prize on CBS Big Brother 8.
